Greetings! Welcome to the Liberty Elementary website.
My name is Jeff Rotherham and I am the assistant principal of Liberty Elementary, home of the Superstars! I am proud to say I have been at Liberty from day one.
Since our doors opened in 2002, the faculty and staff have fostered a community of safe, thoughtful and determined students. All members of our school community are committed to encouraging and challenging our students through rigorous academic programming. In addition, our strong community partnerships have facilitated many ‘out of classroom' activities for our students, which have been beneficial in connecting real-life experiences to the curriculum. It is through these experiences that we are shaping and empowering students to be good citizens in a global society
We are continuously striving to grow our parent and community support systems to help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally; You are invited to join us in making that happen for our future. Please feel free to stop in anytime, the door is always open for positive collaboration!
A bit about me…
This is my 28th year with the Omaha Public Schools. I spent 12 years as a vocal music teacher in various schools and grade levels ranging from early childhood through 8th grade. I switched to teaching technology in 2005 and have loved every bit of my teaching career. I’ve learned something from every experience and it has made me the person I am today.
I hold a Bachelor of Music Education (vocal/instrumental K-12) from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln; a Masters in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Nebraska at Omaha; a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in technology from Peru State College; and an endorsement in English as a Second Language from Concordia University.
I’m married to a middle school counselor and have 3 fur children; a great dane (Lyric), a great dane mix (Lucy) and a black lab mix (Luna) - all rescues. My wife and I also love riding our Harley-Davidson motorcycles every chance we get!
